Description:

Not much is known about Acantha's wildlife as few Elysians ever venture there and fewer return to tell the tale. However, salamanders are common in the Acanthan badlands which must be traversed to reach anywhere in Acantha from the Chandric portal.

Much like any Elysian or Terran lizard, salamander are reptilian creatures with incredible speed and the ability to survive on very little food. However, salamanders are larger than the average lizard at some six feet in length and, though content to eat insects and small rodents as they find them, tend to prey on larger animals such as dogs and sheep.

The salamander's bright colours serve to attract mates but make them easy to spot and they are prey to several Acanthan beasts. Fortunately for the salamander, it's capable of outrunning most predators with bursts of amazing speed.
