Uses:

• Feanaro are sold as a pet at the Exotic Emporium but be warned that there are many difficulties involved in raising them due to their need for hot climates and their tendency to burn people when startled.

Player:

• The owner of a firefox can godmod their own pet.
• Played characters can godmod feanaro that don't belong to other players as long as contact is minimal and there's no interaction (eg. watching firefoxes at play).
• The ONPC writers roleplay feanaro.

Description:

You'd be forgiven for mistaking the firefox for a normal fox from a distance as their shape, size and colouring are similar to that of a common red fox. On closer inspection, however, the differences become apparent as the firefox has larger ears, different markings and, when it sneezes or is startled, bursts into flame.

The feanaro's eyes are small, round and black with dark red irises that often glow like the embers of a fire. Timid and easily startled, the firefox is completely reliant on its surrounding climate, inhabiting dormant volcanoes in the Dusky Mountains. Some have also been spotted in the active volcanoes in the Keikis region of Zanarya.

The feanaro spends its days constantly foraging for grubs and small rodents. It mates frequently from the age of 1½ until it dies, producing an average of six pups per litter.

Abilities:

The firefox is like any other fox but it has a built-in defence mechanism. Easily startled, it bursts into uncontrollable flame, burning anything that attempts to eat or capture it so it can escape.

Weaknesses:

Feanaro are completely reliant on the heat and fire of their natural habitats, becoming ill and dying within a few hours if their body temperature drops too low.
