Tammish FlowerName: Tammish Flower Size: Tiny Region: Coastal Lifespan: 18 months AppearanceThe Tammish Flower only really looks like a flower at night where it opens its petals out in reaction to the moonlight — at day, they close up to look like an elongated flower bud. The petals are also generally carmine in color, veined with hues of yellow as is its green stem. When the Tammish is mature enough, it also bears fruits in the form of orange eggs half a thumbnail in size. These are attached to the pale yellow cone-like structure jutting it from the middle of the petals. BehaviourThe Tammish Flower is a nocturnal plant and grows only when the sun is down. Previous studies have associated its maturation to the height of the moon however, recent observations have established that the moon's presence has no outright relation to its development aside from the direction that the plants normally face. As soon as the sun sets, the Tammish Flower begins to open up and will slowly fold back in when the sun begins to rise. Habitat: The Tammish Flower is at home along the coastline of the volcano-riddled continent of Dardanos. They grow among rocks and are normally resistant against water. The Tammish Flower has not been seen growing elsewhere. Special InformationUses: Its fruits are a common favorite among Dardanian households and are considerably a luxury in other lands. They taste tart, are chewy, and are a popular treat during the summer. The leaves are also edible, having a thicker, stringier texture and a creamier taste although still with its own tartness. The stem and the stalk from which the fruits grow have little to no use however, the roots are known to help alleviate pulmonary conditions when their steam is either breathed in or they are turned to tea or soup. Origin: Tammish Flowers are said to have began under the sea, seeds of which were washed over to the surface by the waves where it began to grow among the rocks. A legend also claims that the first Tammish Flowers used to be Dardanian warriors who surrounded their homeland to protect her against her invaders. Some versions claim that the invaders came and killed the warriors however the much preferred one involves a simple disappearance of the warriors or a transformation from their respective races to the flowers and to this date, they continue to watch over Dardanos as well as nurture her by their fruits.
