Yondallar Rainforest

Yondallar Rainforest is a stretch of jungle that covers a large portion of the mainland to the east of the Duskies. Like any jungle, the foliage here is dense, the trees enormous and the predators (both animal and plant) deadly.

Its boundaries marked by settlements like Serendipity and Corantha, despite the dangers of living so close, the jungle belongs to no one. Instead, it is home to a whole host of dangerous creatures, from the metal-skinned stymphalian to the infant stage of the hydra, and hidden among the trees are man-eating plants like the lunastur.

"Civilisation" and the law does not extend to the rainforest so if anyone lives there, it's usually bandits. It's also easy to get lost in the dense foliage, but that doesn't stop hunters and sportsmen alike from traversing its white-water rivers or pitting their wits against Yondallar's predators. Many of the plants that grow here also provide ingredients for a wide variety of potions, including the goldrush jelly tree which provides the main source of one of Elysia's most potent healing potions, and there's a high demand among the rich and vain for the exotic pets captured here.
