Serindárin original image from Alpha Coders "Serindárin" is Sylvan for "waterfall house", and the name of a Nyad and Dryad commune near Lake Bethesda, almost exactly opposite Evgenia. The village was built across a waterfall (hence the name) that was cut into the lakeside by the Nyad residents, from local trees grown and Shaped by the Dryads. Though small, populated by less than 500 Nymphs, the commune's territory is extended through neighbouring demesnes — including part way into the lake itself. Serindárin is one of few communes that will welcome not only Therians, but also other visitors. Traders are encouraged even though the journey from the Fae Tree is long and difficult, and through them, residents eagerly take in news and gossip from the rest of the realms. Like other communes, however, non-Nymphs are not permitted to move in, and interracial affairs, though fairly common in the short-term, are discouraged in the long-term. The Serin are not overly trusting, however, relying on the Sidhe to defend them against visitors as needed. These Sidhe, known as the Serin Riders, are famous across Elysia for the black hippogriffs they ride while on patrol. Page last modified on June 15, 2011, at 09:54 AM |
