Serendipity

Serendipity is a small village nestled right on the river Theseus, not all that far from the Yondallar Rainforest. It was founded some 1,500 years ago by a group of Nymphs who left their commune in order to more easily explore the creativity of the other races. They were soon joined by Dracovari, Anyeli, and even Zanaryans. The other races can also be found there, but not nearly as many.

The town features several different disciplines. Everything from impromptu dance performances, to long standing seamstresses can be easily found. There are five famous shops in the town that are renowned across the realm. Riverside Pots is a pottery shop run by Heather Freeson, a human widow to a Priest of Xanth who moved there after her husband died. Harte of Gold is a jeweler's run by Emil and Dalia Harte, a long-married Aurumus couple. Pins & Needles is the seamstress's shop run by Pria Annison, a wiry old Anyeli women who never dyed her wings. The Purple Ribbon is the most famous tailor in Elysia, owned and run by Lydia, a Nyad who has groved herself to the town and river. The last renowned store front is that of Sirin's Leather Tanning, an aptly named store that specializes in all kinds of merchandise made from animal hide and is owned by a Zanaryan man only known by Sirin.

The town has many exports, almost all of which consist of things made by the town's residents. There are no walls to guard the village since it is so small, and so the Town Council employs some guards to protect them at all times from the beasts that surround them due to their location.
