Piper's BoutiquePiper's Boutique is a quaint little shop tucked into an alley just off the High Street in New Alexandria. At the bottom of the alley where it connects to the High Street, a cheerful red sign featuring the boutique's name and a cutesy sketch of a stuffed bear points the way for potential customers. For a list of items sold at the Boutique, please check here. The InteriorAs customers walk into the boutique, a tiny bell over the door pings to announce their arrival. Against the backdrop of a luxurious red satin-brocade wallpaper, there are bookshelves made of glass and wrought iron that has been crafted to look like twining leaves that line each wall from floor to ceiling. Each glass shelf is packed with teddy bears in a variety of poses, some completely naked and others kitted out in cute little outfits. There are matching glass tables in the room, one a chunky waist-high affair that takes centre stage, and a smaller desk that sits quietly in the far corner. On the smaller of the two sits a hefty iron manual till, an intricately carved wooden pin-wheel hung with an assortment of miniature bears on keychains, a pair of "Best Friend" bears and a stuffed dragon. Customers are likely to spot Piper's pets, a wolf and fox, napping under this table. Behind the cash desk is a door marked 'PRIVATE'. Sometimes, Piper leaves it open so the work room beyond it is visible, but she tries to keep it closed in order to hide the messy bolts of fabric and supplies she stores back there. Four large matching photograph albums, encased in red satin-brocade, sit at right-angles on the table at the centre of the room. The curious may flick through them to see samples of Piper's print work for purchase or to give inspiration for custom orders. There is also a stack of forms and a pretty stained-glass pen pot at the centre of the table. Customer ServiceThe cash desk is usually manned by Piper Kin, a petite Chinese-American Vampire who always manages to look like a deer caught in oncoming headlights. She'll give customers a friendly smile when they enter but otherwise leave them alone unless they approach her. Though generally a friendly kind of person, Piper is on the shy side and will usually let the customer start a conversation rather than attempting to begin one herself. Increasingly, however, Piper is spending time away from the shop chasing down new materials and cheaper sources. In these instances, she may hire an assistant to mind the boutique while she's gone, though she'll usually take her HoPC with her so that she can complete print orders on the move. If customers stop to look around long enough, they will eventually be accosted by Piper's pets, Comet and Fawn, as they appear from their sleeping place under the cash desk seeking attention.
