PhiorePhiore (pronounced fee-ORE) is a fairly small village near the southwestern corner of the Fae Forest. It is populated by Nymphs and comprises of several dozen groves spread out over a general area, although there are many tree domes and gardens that the Nymphs share. The land itself was first inhabited in 7,239 XA, but the village's population managed to keep itself rather small despite the attractively lush soil and pleasant, flower-scented atmosphere. The secluded village is most famous for its meadow, most often called the Phiore Field. A folktale surrounds this field as the final resting place of a Nymph named Spinifere, about whom a poem was written. Spinifere had supposedly lived in the village hundreds of years ago, protecting the land from natural disasters and creating the flowery beauty it is known for now. Villagers believe that the gentle spirit of Spinifere still inhabits the Field. There is an unusually high amount of wind over the meadow, and when breezes stir the flowers it's as though the petals are dancing in the air. Page last modified on June 15, 2011, at 09:54 AM |
