The Nubian Delta

The Nubian Delta is a massive tract of land in southern Elysia that covers 1,280,000 square miles (3,315,184 square kilometres) where the River Espira splits into multiple distributaries on its way through both Nubia and Espur.

Most of the Nubian Delta is farmland and floodplains. The crops grown here can differ greatly from the rice grown along the northern boundaries to the watercress and peppermint found on the south-western mudflats. The Nubian Delta is also one of the main exporters of food, though not quite as prolific as Alexshire.

The population is scattered, though. Farms can be miles apart and still only manage a few acres to themselves, and even dirt tracks are scarce. In fact, the only roads available across the delta are the ones from Espur to Nubia, and Espur to Danurai, and where they meet up with the road south from Kyriake. Most traffic (especially merchant caravans) is on the river itself.

The delta can be a very dangerous, wild place. Hydra migrate south across the delta from Yondallar in the north, and all manner of other creatures make their homes here.
