The Novläira is an intricate network of tunnels located a few miles beyond the border of the Chandric and the Fae Forests. Few can guess how long ago these caverns were last inhabited, but signs of the Therians' existence remain within the tunnels in the form of crushed pottery, faded wall paintings, shredded door flaps, and other paraphernalia. Aged crystals rest within every few paces of the wall, though if they even glow, they do so very dimly.

The cavern's only known entrance lies at the partially-hollowed base of a giant sequoia tree, but the entrance is heavily barred by the abundant growth of thorns and shrubbery throughout the tree's radius. Coupled with the Chandric's inherently dim lighting, the entrance is difficult for even the most trained explorers to find. Therians believe that there must be more entrances than one, but that the doors had simply collapsed over time.

If one were to draw a map of the caverns, the caverns would look like an upside-down dome with three layers. As it is, explorers have only been known to explore the first level, since the other two have been deemed too dangerous. These forgotten tunnels now nests a plethora of the forest's inhabitants, such as taravix, kumos, and the deadly vlareon. Adventurers may occasionally even hear voices, or soft laughter, echoing in the caverns. Whatever the reason for that, it is only best to chalk it up to paranoia.

Every few decades, the foolish or the brave at heart have ventured into these abandoned caverns in search of new discoveries of the old civilization. Not all of them return aboveground.
