Conterra

Conterra is a place shrouded in myth and legend. Some say it is just a Nymph folktale, while others swear that it is real. The debate arises because Conterra is purported to be an underwater commune that never emerges from beneath the Ao Sea's surface.

In truth, Conterra is a very real place. It exists thanks to the help of the aquatic plant Tanis. The nymphs who formed the commune were the ones who initially discovered the plant, and devised a way too manipulate the massive amounts of water the plants absorb in order to link them together, creating a vast array of underwater tunnels that rivals the size of even the Rowan Caverns.

Conterra was formed after Dimitri's War destroyed another commune by the name of Tania's Point. The first Naneth was a trio of nyad sisters named Elia, Lisha and Pria Legose. These three nymphs were some of the very few survivors of the attack on the small commune in the middle of the Nubian Delta.

The community itself is highly xenophobic, beyond any other culture in the known realms. They are not gender segregated, but it is very rare to find anything other than Nyads there. This is not because the other elements are disallowed, but rather that those bonded to anything but water typically experience extremely drastic symptoms of Urbanitis, and thus end up leaving the commune for the mainland.

The commune itself is locate a few hundred miles off the coast, southwest of Despina. The underwater tunnels stretch for miles and miles in all directions, growing regularly in order to accommodate their increasing numbers. Their numbers primarily increase due to breeding, which happens frequently due to the genders being intermingled. They do not accept many outsiders into their midst at all, being afraid of the terrors that their founders witnessed during the war which destroyed their former home.
