The Ceracen Islands

Despite the name and its nature, Ceracen is not actually a geological feature; it is, in fact, a massive leviathan called a gigan. In the natural life cycle of the creature, tons of ice and dirt have grown and collected on the gigan's back to form a large cluster of moving islands about 100 miles across.

Acting much like a comet, Ceracen follows a route through the arctic regions of the Ao Sea and returns to the Dardanian coast roughly once every ten years. At certain points in its journey, it comes within a thousand miles of the equator, and the frozen wonderland on its back begins to melt. However, it never completely thaws out.
