The Bank of Elysia

All branches of the Bank of Elysia have one thing in common, no matter how big or small they may be: A man-sized statue of the Elysian symbol for currency, "ΞΆ", standing outside the front entrance.

These statues are usually not made of anything valuable for obvious reasons, but instead are typically made of a cheap wood that is then painted a metallic gold colour so that it shines nicely in the light.

These xanthai statues can be found in various states of repair throughout the mainland. For instance, the statue outside of Danurai's main branch has lost most of its varnish and paint so the wood can be seen underneath, but Espur's statues all gleam just as brightly today as when they were made.

Speaking of "main branch", it should be noted that most of the larger towns, and certainly the cities, have more than one branch. The size and decorative wealth of each is very much dependent on its location (for instance, most branches in New Alexandria feature a lot of marble and floor mosaics, whereas even the main branch in Marport is made of wood and quite poky), and you aren't likely to find a branch in many of the smaller villages for the simple fact that most folk there still barter and trade with goods rather than money.
