Description: Faust is a legend, a hero of "the war" (no one quite knows which, though it is most likely the War of the Dragon. It is possible he participated in several). A hard man, his face appears as if chiselled from granite and his sculpted body is the result of hard daily training since he was a boy. His red eyes are fixed in a near-permanent scowl and his nose, broken several times and never reset properly, looks like a rocky outcropping jutting from a mountain side.

His will is just as hard. He is an unbending man — which makes his profession an odd choice, as well as his role as his gang's negotiator. Still, his reputation and his skill (as well as surrounding himself with other skilled combatants) means that his gang can demand quite the reward for escorting merchant caravans between his home town of Nubia and the port-and-portal city of Espur.

Not all of the rumours about Faust and his men are of the heroic sort, however, and some Nubians doubt his intentions. Though most of his employers have arrived safe and sound at their destination, enough have disappeared over the years — along with their precious cargo — that stories of betrayal are fairly common. Faust's response, if ever he makes one, is merely that one cannot expect the good guys to win every time, but his inscrutability makes it difficult to judge him properly.
