Weapons

Please note that this is not an extensive list. Elysians can technically use any weapon (aside from firearms) and train in any combat technique known on Earth (as well as perhaps one or two they've developed themselves). However, the list here is of the weapons commonly used, made and sold in the realms, so anything else will be a custom order.

Hunting

Elysia uses weapons in many different ways. One of the most common uses is that of hunting. Hunting weapons are typically built for taking out an animal from a distance and as such they consist primarily of spears, bows, and slings.

• Hunting bows are typically short bows due to their small size. The bow itself can be made of any type of available wood. Arrows for these bows are made with the intent of penetrating the flesh and then staying inside the target so that that can be later retrieved and reused. Arrow heads can be made of any type of metal or stone, and in rural areas are often formed simply from whatever firm stone is commonly available.
• Hunting spears are usually about the same height as the person they are made for, having a wooden shaft and either a stone or metal head. The head is shaped to allow it to fly more easily when thrown. Spears such as this are usually used to take down larger creatures than similar quality hunting bows.
• Hunting slings are formed from common leather and can throw small stones for moderate distances. They are used to stun animals, and typically depend on a knife used when in closer range to deal the death blow.
• Hunting knives are about 6 inches in length, usually with at least one serrated edge. They are usually used secondary to another, typically long range, weapon. Their purpose is primarily to break down the body of a target animal in order to take it back more easily, but they are also used for cutting through various obstacles a hunter might encounter.

Combat

Elysians have an extremely diverse range of weapons available to them due to the sometimes extreme specialties of the Dracovari's Rutilus and also the Anyeli's Warriors. These weapons can be focused on either offense or defense and can be made from almost any kind of available material.

Ceremonial and Ornamental

Weapons are also used in a vast number of Elysian ceremonies, such as the Anyeli cast ritual, and are also used to indicate rank, such as for the Zanaryan Shrine Lords. These weapons are intricately decorated, and are often not practical for actual use.

Assassination

Beyond hunting and honest combat lies the dark underbelly of Elysia. Crime is a commonality in the realms, and as such there are some well known weapons that have become tools of the trade.
