Appearance

The unicorn is a rare and powerful white horse that has a single white horn (sometimes gold among the females) adorning the forehead. Otherwise, the white mane and tail are the only things that set the unicorn apart from normal white horses physically, though some poets have described them as unnaturally and ethereally beautiful.

Behaviour

Unicorns live alone, or with a herd numbering between ten and fifteen, in sheltered forests like the outer regions or open meadows of the Fae.

Diet: Grass and flowers.

Habitat: Unicorns live in sheltered forests and open meadows where trees are sparse and there's plenty of grass.

Breeding: They breed like horses.

Special Information

Strengths/Abilities:

• The unicorn has the ability to heal most of the injuries it sustains, though they cannot regrow their horns despite what some folklore says.

Uses:

• Legend suggests that it is the unicorn's horn that allows the creature to heal itself and that the horn has magical properties. For this reason, ground unicorn horn appears in many healing potions and is sold for a high price on the black market, whether or not the lore is true.
• Carved unicorn horns make musical instruments that look and sound beautiful.
• Hair from a unicorn's tail and mane can be used to fashion the strings of instruments and bows that are sturdier and more durable than usual.
